I bought these for a tap student recently. The first class she used them, a nail came out. Another student stepped on it by accident a ripped a hole in my brand new Marley Floor. Not happy!

GREAT BEGINNER SHOE WITH GOOD TONE
I ordered eleven of these for a tap number in a musical production. From the street shoe sizes, I ordered a half-size up for girls and 2 sizes up for boys. All but one fit, though most were a snug (good) fit. I'd recommend maybe an additional half-size up or whole size up for growing room, if needed.
They look good, they're comfy, and they have a good tone, especially for the price (sound about as good as my more expensive shoes!). They only need to last about 8 more weeks until the performance, so I won't be able to speak much to durability, but so far, so good!
They also shipped and arrived very quickly, so we had them for a few more rehearsals than we anticipated. Overall: very happy.

GOOD SHOES - RUN A SIZE SMALL
Got these (adult version) for my 10 year old daughter - they survived a year of tap and shows in good shape but unfortunately she's grown out of them. Buying again. They do run about a size smaller than your normal size.

Need Teen Boys Tap Shoe Size Suggestion
My son is 16 and wears a size 8 shoe. Can you please suggest what size I should order him in the So Dance Beginner Tap Shoe? Thank you!
A mens 8 is equivalent to a womens 10. According to the sizing guide, you are suggested to order the same or a half size larger. Therefore, we would suggest a 10 or 10.5.

I need a sturdy pair that doesn't have an overly flexible arch so I can have more support on my toes.
The best tap shoes for toe stands have split soles. The Capezio CG16 ?FlexMaster? is better for toe stands and has a strong toe box for support. The Leo's LS3006L Adult Split Sole Jazz Tap Shoe is also good for toe stands. - DDS Customer Service (02/10/2015)
