Flexers Light Professional Pink Ribbon

I'm a fan of bun heads. I've been using them for a while. I didn't realize they also had the tendon protection elastic and I'm very happy they do.

This ribbon is nice and comfortable but I highly recommend trying the Gaynor TLC ribbon. My daughter used to use the Bunhead ribbon and decided to try the Gaynor TLC ones and will never go back. The material is better quality, matte instead of shiny, and the elastic is the same width as the satin. If you wear Russian Pointe's, this ribbon will be darker than your shoe.

I love the Flexers ribbons!! I never use anything else. My pointe shoes vary according to what I'm dancing but my ribbons never change!!

They are shiny on one side and matte on the other. The elastic does not match the width of the ribbon so it looks a bit messy, though obviously not as noticeable when being worn. Since the elastic is thinner there is a bit more stretchy to it than there is to the other brands. It is not very durable. The ribbon frays very easily and the elastic sort of runs. I would only recommend these to somebody with Russian Pointes or Grishko shoes as the color will match much better than any other brand and they aren't terrible. Also, if you are a professional or just go through shoes like crazy, these are great for class and rehearsal shoes if you don't like reusing ribbons. In my opinion, the stretch is better than the other brands so they are more comfy but the durability just makes it a bad product for anybody who uses their shoes for 2 months. If you are constantly in new shoes it isn't a big deal.

I am usually a huge fan of bunheads, however I really didn't like these ribbons. The elastic is thinner then the ribbon, giving the ribbons a choppy look. The elastic is only sewn once across and has huge extra bits of elastic hanging out. Don't cut them though, because then the elastic will fray, which it did. I highly recommend Gaynor Mindens TLC ribbons. Much softer, stronger, and better quality.

I bought these at my local dance store for my first pair of pointe shoes and they work pretty well. They are a little hard to sew though. The color is a light pink and matches my Bloch Serenades fairly well, but my pointe shoes are a little darker color of pink. The only problem I've noticed with these is that the elastic is starting to fray a bit.

Sewing these into the shoes was tricky because you have to calculate how much ribbon to leave so that the elastic part ends up in the right place (at the back of the foot/heel where it would work). My daughters' ended up on the side (over her ankle). On top of that, the part of the ribbon which is attached to the elastic shredded within a few dance classes. BIG waste of time.

First of all: Don't get these if you wear Russian Pointe. The color looks ridiculously pink when it's on Russian Pointe shoes. I really don't like how the elastic is thinner that the ribbon so that there's a gap between the top of the ribbon and elastic. That didn't make sense... basically it's not smooth all the way across the top. The ribbon slips out of place all the time and never stays tucked into my shoes. Also I think the elastic isn't very comfortable, it's very thin and the stitching starts to come undone very easily. Overall I guess these ribbons did their job and helped prevent me from getting tendonitis, but I will not be getting them again.

I'm one of those people who is always worried about tendon damage (one of my phobias in life is breaking a tendon). Regular ribbons either look loose if I tie them loose enough to not put pressure on my tendons, or are uncomfortable if they're tied tighter. The elastic pieces in these shoes take care of this problem. They do take a little longer to sew in because you need to make sure the elastic is in the right spot, but for the extra two minutes I won't complain. These ribbons match perfectly with Grishko pointes.

I thought these ribbons were perfect. There really wasn't anything bad about these ribbons. The only thing that I was a bit annoyed with was the fact that the seam that was connecting the elastic and the ribbon was coming unraveled. Luckily, the pointe shoes died before the ribbon did. My friend has these ribbons, but not for their purpose. She says that if your regular pointe shoe ribbons always become lose while dancing, these ribbons will help them stay nice and tight. That may help anyone whose ribbons keep becoming lose. These ribbons are perfect for every dancer's needs, even though I don't use them anymore.

I got these because I do tend to tie my ribbons too tight. They feel amazing. The color really matches the three shoe brands I buy; Gamba, Grishko, and Russian Pointe.

These are complete rubbish!! I was dancing the role of Sugar Plum Fairy... opening night public show and the elastic and ribbon unraveled during the Pas!! Luckily I had my elastics crisscrossed so it didn't affect my performance. i will NEVER buy these EVER again... BEWARE!!!!

Work great for me - love them. Way more comfortable then regular ribbons, plus they don't gape at all. The only thing I would say that you need to be careful of is to not tie them too tight - I did that once and my ankle was really swollen by the end of class. It's really easy to forget that they can cut off circulation lol. Otherwise, get them - you'll be really glad you did.

These ribbons are great! They have helped with my tendonitis so much! The only problem was that the color was too light for my pointe shoes.

Why didn't I find these sooner? These ribbons are absolutely incredible. My ribbons before always looked beautiful en pointe, but when I was on demi-pointe or flat, they gapped and looked ugly. These ribbons totally eliminate that problem! They also make pointe work so much more comfortable - grand plie is so much better! No stress on my Achilles! The health benefits are wonderful. Prevents Achilles tendonitis, and who wouldn't want to avoid that? These should really be a requirement. They are so helpful. They're a bit trickier to sew on since you have to worry about the elastic lining up where you want it to, but it's well worth the extra 2 minutes that takes up. They match my Bloch Serenade MKIIs perfectly, and I don't think the elastic at the heel is at all unprofessional or ugly looking. Completely unnoticeable if you're more than 6 feet away. Love these, PLEASE get them! You'll look and feel so much better!

These are the best ribbons. You just tie them without stretching them and they will stretch, but you'll always have support and they never pull on you.

Before I used these ribbons, I could not go on demi-pointe without crying out with pain. These ribbons give me support on pointe but also allow me to plie and go on demi-pointe. Without these, I wouldn't be able to do pointe-work. I will never dance without these again.
