02/02/2019I love this shoe! I went through sooooo many pairs of pointe shoes BEFORE I could even dance on them at the BARRE because I didn’t know how anything was supposed to feel in store until I was miserable in class! Talk about expensive... Then FINALLY I came across these at a local dance store and I’ve been able to use them at the barre and in center ever since!
My feet are wide at the metatarsals, I have Greek and tapered toes, and I have very stiff ankles. These shoes have been helping me work to get over my box. I’ve had them for a couple of months and they still feel very hard (so they will last a very long time for a beginner that doesn’t have extremely strong/flexible feet yet).
I’ve tried Grishko Miracles (too blocky and couldn’t get over with vamp length), Capezio Kylee and Ava’s (I would sink completely, super painful), Russian Pointe Encores (could not even get up on pointe), and even customized Gaynors (platform too small—otherwise they’re good, but not ready to dance on something that small). Bloch Aspirations have been the ONE shoe I can’t complain about at all!! They are soft, yet durable, the platform is perfect for a beginner because of the space to balance on, the box is wide, but not wide enough to let me sink, vamp is short enough for my toes to roll through, they definitely make me work BUT I’ve seen quick improvements week by week.

Billerica,MAI first got fitted for a pair of CK pointe shoes when I started training, when they were discontinued I gave these shoes a shot. They form to your feet easy and break in pretty fast so you should be taking classes in them almost immediately. Once you feel stable on pointe and begin taking more hours of class you may want to find a pair with a harder shank. These usually last me about 2 months. However my shoes did arrive already with slight damage to the satin on the box of the shoe.

06/02/2015I ordered these shoes without being fitted (which was a little risky) but they fit perfectly!!! I would say they are probably just a little too wide but once I get them on with the padding and stuff and get en pointe, they are perfect, I love them. Perfect style for my foot type (peasant foot). I would highly recommend this style of shoe to anyone else who has a peasant foot style foot.

03/13/2015These were my first pointe shoes. I really liked them. The platform is really nice and wide for good balance. I did my first pirouette on pointe in these shoes. They were comfortable for pointe shoes; I wore them with ouch pouches. I have very high and strong arches and these shoes just didn't last. My very first pair lasted only a week. My second and third pairs each lasted 2 weeks. The shank is just too weak. the box would still be solid but the shank died really fast. I would recommend these if you don't have super high or strong arches and won't be spending a lot of time en pointe.

01/17/2015I went to my first fitting and these were the first pair I tried on. I also tried on some other shoes but the size of these fit the best for me with the toe pads and everything. I have tapered toes and very wide feet. I wear 5.5 and the width is C, which is classified as narrow. Even tho they do not have a tapered box it was the best. I highly recommend these shoes, but always try them in person before buying.

12/14/2014I have rather strong feet, I got these when i was in 5th grade and they were my first pair of pointe shoes. At first I struggled breaking these in, as many people struggle with their first pair of pointe shoes at first. I have a moderate arch, average toes, and a very narrow foot. After about 2 weeks they were broken in and my feet were stronger, and i loved them. They sadly did not last me long, about 3-4 months. I did not repurchase these, i got Bloch Signature Rehersal, and I loved those as well. After those I branched out to try Russian, etc. In the end I prefer Bloch over any pointe shoe, for classes, and rehersals. I reccomend these for begginers, and people with relatively stronger ankles.

11/19/2014This is my daughter's first year to take pointe. So I researched several brands and style of pointe shoes before choosing this shoe. Several of the girls in her Ballet studio have this shoe and really like them. After trying a few other Bloch styles on, this shoe was the most comfortable and looked the best on her foot. After just a few classes she was up and over the box. This is rated as a beginner shoe but my daughter will use this style for several years. she only dances about 2 hours a month so I hope we can get a full year of dance out these IF her foot dose not grow to much.

10/21/2014My daughter is a teenager and has been taking dance for 10 years and in pointe for 5. She has trained and performed in several pointe shoes.
She has been very please with the Aspirations and has worn these for 6 months. She is only 5 feet tall and 95 lbs and has a wide foot with short toes. These pointes seem to accomadate her feet well. Her dancing has improved greatly with these pointes. She is on pointe about 4 hours a week and they last her about 4-6 weeks.

07/04/2014Before trying these I used Freeds, which did not work for me. My feet are extremely narrow, and they weren't conforming to my feet well. A friend recommended these, so I ordered a size 6 since I'm a size 8 in street shoes. They work perfectly! They're narrow enough for my feet and feel like a second skin. I recommend these for both beginners and professionals alike.

06/09/2014I am an adult student and this is my first real foray onto pointe. I was fitted, which, of course, is recommended to EVERYONE. These shoes give me good support and the box is very stable. I'm able to get up and over the box without killing myself. I have short toes and low but strong arches. The shoes fit without much manipulation to the shoe; they look good and compliment my feet. I wear Bunheads Big Tips on my big toes and second toes and lambs wool pillows. I also tape my little toes and have yet to get too many blisters, even with several pointe classes a week. I wear a street size of 7M and a Bloch size of 5 1/2 C. I've blown through a pair as quickly as a couple of weeks and I've gotten as much as a couple of months - I'm not sure how that works out but I usually buy at least 2 pairs at a time. Overall, I'm really happy with the shoe.

02/16/2014These shoes are at a really good price and they lasted almost 2 months with me practicing for 2 hours or less, 4 days a week, so that's pretty good. They're really comfortable as well. The shank finally broke during practice yesterday so I guess that means it's time for me to move on to another pair. *Sigh*

08/07/2013This is a great pointe shoe for those just getting started. As a male that takes pointe shoe classes I had to try on about 10 different pairs of pointe shoes. When I finally got to these, they were perfect. They come in larger sizes so I had no issue with being fitted in these. If your a Male that wants to do pointe work then these pointe shoes are likely the best shoe to go with. Happy dancing guys.

02/18/2013I bought my first pair of Aspirations 8 years ago after years of fitting frustrations. I have small feet with extremely high arches and wide metatarsal area and a very narrow heel.
Aspirations fit like an extension of my foot. I often recommend them for students with a hard to fit foot and I appreciate Bloch for accommodating dancers with a different type of foot. I've worn every shoe on the market and Aspirations are the best fitting shoe I've ever worn.
While marketed as a beginner shoe, they are by no means an unqualified shoe for an advanced student or professional.
The only real downside is their short lifespan. I've seen beginners wear them as a first pointe shoe for up to 5 months max. For me personally, if I only wear them to teach beginning pointe for 2 hours a week they'll last at max 6-8 weeks. If I teach more advanced classes in them or take class myself at best they'll last 2-3 weeks.
I've found no need for padding in them but I generally don't wear padding anyway, for students who feel they need padding I recommend pairing these with Bunheads Ouch Pouch as they allow you to feel the floor and they fit nicely in the box without adding bulk.

11/21/2012I absolutely love these pointe shoes! They fit me so well and I love the color of them. For a brand new pair of pointe shoes I found them fairly easy to use/break in. These are my second pair of pointe shoes and they are much better than the first pair.

08/25/2012Many people only recommend this as a beginners shoe, although I have used them for 4 years now, and I have never had a problem. I have to replace them about every 3-4 weeks because the shank just wears out completely, but I do have significantly arch-y feet. The reason I am okay with that is because they are so inexpensive as far as Pointe shoes go. I can buy a pair of Pointe shoes that are two times more and they only last me a week or two more, so overall this is a great shoe. Very comfortable and fit very wide feet.

04/13/2012I have been on pointe for about a year and a half now. These are the first pair of shoes that I put on and felt like they were meant for my feet. I have extremely wide feet and high arches. My feet get wider in the toe region and I have very long toes. The boxes on these shoes do not taper but stay as wide as the shoe so they fit my foot perfectly. I have only worn them for one half hour pointe class so far, but they are the only shoe that I have ever worn that hasn't completely broken in or died in the first 20 minutes. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who has very strong feet. I have previously worn Gamba G97s, prima soft voile, merlet, and another prima soft shoe. The boxes on the side of the shoes come up the side of your foot for the perfect amount of support when rolling up without constricting it when trying to go on demi pointe or pointing your foot. Hopefully these shoes with last longer than a couple classes! Hope this review helped. Oh, and as a side note, if you have strong feet, no matter how good bloch "balance european" or european balances feel at a fitting DO NOT BUY THEM! These shoes are a much better option!

02/26/2012I bought this as my first shoe about a year ago. They have remained strong but took what seems like forever to become flexible and to break in. Only in the past few months have they really started forming to work with my foot. Besides that, they have been extremely comfortable with my narrow ( but strong) feet that have a pretty poor natural arch. I recently purchased Bloch Serenade because i outgrew my shoes but I'm having second thoughts because of how tough the shank is built for more flexible and weaker feet. Also, my toe joints especially my big toes and pinkys don't feel good. I would recommend using Aspiration if you have strong feet with boney toe joints or bunions. The box is super comfy!

01/16/2012These were my first pointe shoes, and I had them for a whopping /year/. One whole year. At first, they honestly made me cry ; the shank was way too strong for my beginner feet, but once I broke through it, a few months later, and got them arranged at my pointe shoe fitter's ; best shoes ever.
My arch is already pretty big, but it looked amazing in these shoes, rolling onto pointe was easy, the box was big so it was easy to land jumps.
Really, amazing ; until the day I switched from ouch pouches to lambs wool and sometimes just tape. The platform was much thinner than on my Freeds. :/
So these shoes, with my experience, require ;
-- Gel pads, which I don't like.
-- Big arches and strong feet, to break them in.
[ My feet aren't that strong. ]

01/10/2012I wear a street size 8, with fairly narrow feet(I have to tie all of my regular width tennis shoes very tightly) and the 6B was perfect. My first pair of pointe shoes! One hour a day every day, wore them out in 7 months. While I now have GM's, these were great for my first year of pointe (as an adult beginner.)

California,These shoes break in super easy! I bent them with my hands and within an instant they felt right. The demi pointe is ridiculously hard to roll through, and I dont like the way that the box doesn't curve with the foot, it looks like the foot is sticking out. For having wide feet, I am surprised that a 6 C fits me! When I go up on them, I am barely on the platform. I will see how they break down...

07/19/2010Great pointe shoes, but not for beginners with weak arches and feet. I found the shank to be very very hard. The breaking in process was difficult. Also, if you have short toes, bunions or unnoticeable instep then this shoe may not work for you either. The vamp is high. Otherwise, this shoe looks really good.

04/12/2010I just got a pair of these about a week ago and I LOVE them. They are the best pair of pointe shoes I've had. It is so much easier to get all the way on pointe 'cause of how hard they are. They are just awesome.

03/12/2010I have this one, and every one in my class. But I have short toes and a really high arch so the long vamp hurts a lot and the wings also. I wouldn't recommend this one on a person that has short toes.

01/21/2010These were my first pair of pointe shoes. They were great at first, although I found if you don't dance several times a week, they're harder to break in (just a personal opinion). After my arches started to get better, they don't really move with your feet as well. Other than that, I like them but it's those two things that bothered me.

10/17/2009BLOCH Aspiration shoes are amazing! I love them. In my opinion, I think that when people say, "Bloch Aspiration pointe shoes are for beginners, and if you're not a beginner you should switch" is baloney! Judge your own feet and how they feel. I am an advanced ballet/pointe dancer and I highly recommend them.

Southport, Nc,I was pretty impressed with these pointe shoes, even though I only had one disappointment with them. These are my first pairs of Blochs, I've been using Sanshas, but decided to go with something different. The shoes broke in really good and are more comfortable than previous shoes I've been using. I think the only downer about them are that they don't last very long. I've had these for about 4 months and they're already soft. But I'll deff. order another pair! :)

Las Vegas,I'm the mother of 2 daughters who began pointe classes a year and two months ago. These pointe shoes are so good. My daughters are able to dance well in them, for in the beginning it was hard. But now into their second pair of these beautiful shoes, they are highly recommended and my daughters look beautiful when they dance and perform in their pointe shoes. All my friends ask about their shoes for their daughters, when their time comes. So I appreciate what this shoe does to give the support in the box and help them from harming their ankles.

10/11/2009When I started pointe I started with the Aspiration. The aspiration is the only shoe that I use now. It fits to my arches and my foot perfectly. New York,These shoes were my first pair of pointe shoes, and at that time I didn't have very strong feet. I had an arch but couldn't use it. I tried about 18 different types of other pointe shoes, then finally came back to these after about five years. Wow, what a difference that five years made! My feet look so much nicer now that they are much stronger and arch-ier.I have kind of wide feet with toes that are all pretty much the same length. I always kill my shoes in the box, and the last pair of shoes I had( capezio glisses) died within a week. These last much longer, about 3 or 4 weeks, which for me, is good cause I've always killed shoes really fast. The only reason I won't give these a 5-star is because they aren't really that great for beginners, like it advertises. If you have strong, at least somewhat archy feet, I completely recommend these.

02/22/2009These are my first pointe shoes and I've been using them for about 6 months now. I tried on a bunch of different styles, and these ones fit best, but after wearing them for 6 months, I don't like them at all. I don't have a great arch to begin with, but it's much better in jazz, ballet, and tap shoes than in these pointes, which make it seem like I have no arch at all. I thought the problem was breaking them in, but they should be completely broken in by now. My friend got her Capezios a little after I got these, and hers look much better on her feet (though her arch is much better than mine anyway). I can barely feel the floor so I never know when I'm over my box. I guess they were okay for starting pointe, but I'm definitely getting something else next time. Also, I have a slightly narrow foot, and I don't like the string because the shoes bag around the sides. My friend's shoes have an elastic string, so the sides of the shoe hug her foot.

Washington, Dc,I had been wearing Sonatas for about a year--big mistake! I have pretty wide feet and my arch is basically non-existent, so I had a LOT of trouble getting up on the box and feeling comfortable in my pointe shoes. FINALLY, all my problems are gone! Aspirations are amazing--I will stick with these for a while. The color is pretty, although I do admit my feet do look kind of like...well, blocks. I wasn't expecting much though since my feet are wide anyway. Very happy overall.

11/29/2007I LOVE THESE SHOES! They look really nice on my feet! I have high arches and narrow feet, so it is hard for me to find a well-fitted pointe shoe, but these shoes fit great! The price is also low and affordable. I'm an advanced student and the shoes are not just for beginners. They are a simple shoe, but last a long time, too.

Texas,These shoes are great! The box is hard and it helps me not roll off to the side (which is the problem I have with my left foot). I am still breaking these shoes in, and they HURT! I used to own a pair of "Plie II" pointe shoes by capezio, and they broke in easily because the box is not hard and supportive like my aspirations. But I know that in time, I will perfectly adjust to them.

My Dance Company,I love these shoes. I have had them for like one year (because my foot does not grow). Anyway, they are awesome, you should totally get them.

Baton Rouge, La,These are awesome pointe shoes. They help me stay up on my box since I have only been doing pointe for three months. The only thing I don't like is they feel almost brand new! They are kind of hard to break-in.

07/19/2007These were my first pair of pointe shoes. And I have to say, they were absolutely AMAZING! They lasted me about 3/4 of a year! I really recommend these shoes to beginners. Also, the price is very reasonable. A few good reasons to buy this shoe!

07/13/2007I own these shoes and I have been dancing on pointe for a long time. These shoes are not just for beginners, they are great for everyone!!! They are really hard at first, so you have to have a strong foot. But once you break them in they are great. They mold to my feet very nicely and last me a while. Very good shoes.

Baton Rouge,These are very nice pointe shoes. They help me balance better on the box. They also help with my arch.

07/12/2007Great beginner pointe shoe! They don't take too long to break-in and form to your feet. The box is a little harder, so you may want a little extra lamb's wool or thicker toe pads, since it's probably a beginner wearing them. Very supportive and stable.

07/08/2007I have been dancing on pointe for about three years and have went through almost every brand of shoe including Capezio, Grishko, and Sansha, but I wore through these shoes way too fast. Bloch Aspirations provide a strong shoe that is still comfortable and not impossible to break in. My only problem with these shoes has been me not being able to get over my box, but that may have come from my lack of experience or the early not-broken-in stage of this shoe. With the Bloch Aspirations, dancing en pointe feels as easy and stable as dancing in my flat shoes.

06/09/2007LOVE these shoes!!! They work really well with my high arches and the box is extremely comfortable. Also, even though I have narrow heels and a wide ball of my foot, the sides don't bag.

Lexington,These were my first pointe shoes and they were awesome!I'm going on my second year of pointe and I'm buying these shoes again. They are great for both intermediate and beginners. They lasted me a whole year and they are cheap! It was hard to get all the way on top of my box at first, but when they broke in, it was a lot easier.

Colorado,I have this for my first pair of pointe shoes and I love them. They are perfect
for beginners. I have only danced on them twice and they are almost all the way broken in, and personally, I think it is easier to dance on broken-in shoes. Great for beginners :)

Alabama,These were my 3rd pair of pointe shoes, and have been my favorite pair so far. I have had them a little over a year and are just starting to go dead. These are great for beginners, but are pretty good for intermediate also. Plus the price is FANTASTIC!

12/02/2006I am a former professional ballerina and have been frustrated that my daughter who just got on pointe can't get over her shoes. She has strong feet that aren't very flexible. These shoes have been wonderful. She now gets over her shoes and no longer dreads pointe class. They are a bit hard in the box so you might need to add extra lambs wool or put corn cushions where they rub. What a great shoe for beginning pointe!

10/28/2006These were my second pair of pointe shoes, and so I wasn't too strong. Well, they made my feet look abnormally large and they had a small box that my thin pads could barely fit in. I would not recommend these shoes.

New York,Whenever I go to buy pointes, I always buy a pair of these as a back-up for the year, in case I leave my other shoes at home or in case my shoes die during class and I need a quick change that doesn't need breaking in. What I usually do though, is break the shank in half and rip out the back half, which is easy to do because they are so soft. Then, all I need is ribbons and I have really good emergency shoes. Only problem I found, is that once these get a good use, they tend to "melt" and they really settle in the demi-pointe area, so it's difficult to articulate the arches in my feet and roll up into pointe. But over-all I really do love Bloch pointes. They are really well constructed and I find them all comfortable. My favorites are the Serene ultra v vamp model, and the Sonatas.

07/19/2006When I first started Pointe, I wish I had known about these shoes. I got these my second year and they were very easy to break in. It doesn't take months for them to mold to your foot and the demi pointe is very easy to find. The only thing that was a problem for me, is that the shank broke after forty-five minutes of class. These shoes are clearly for beginners, but are also perfect for people with not much of an arch or weaker feet.

06/13/2006These are great pointe shoes. Good support, comfortable, wide enough for those of us with wide feet! I especially love their new color, it's much pinker, and prettier.

Kamuela, Hi,I am now on my second pair. They are very comfortable and make my feet look great. I have very narrow feet so sometimes it's hard to find shoes for me.

Louisiana,These were my first pair. Since I have a very wide and arch-less foot, finding good support can be difficult.
It has been two years since starting pointe and I still get these same shoes.

05/16/2006These shoes are awesome! I just ordered them in March and I am completely happy with my purchase. They "broke in" very easily and are supportive of my feet.

04/29/2006For the most part I liked the shoe. But there's a few things that I did not like. For example, the box just didn't feel right. But other than that I loved the shoe.
